Service excellence deserves acknowledgement and reward.

With this in mind, Club Assist247 membership is available to all Assist247 Service Providers. The services are offered in conjunction with Europ Assistance South Africa, who makes extensive use of Assist247 listed Providers.

LEGAL ASSIST

A telephonic advice line manned by qualified and experienced attorneys who provide guidance and information on all legal matters, 24 hours a day. No matter is too big or too small.

Various aspects of the law are covered, including the following: Criminal offences, fines, debt, contracts, divorce, maintenance, etc.

Labour Law Advice Line

Europ Assistance has labour law specialists who are able to advise on the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act and various legislations, which relate to labour affairs such as unfair labour practice, basic wages, etc.

Motor Accident Advice Line

Our lawyers give telephonic advice to the client at the scene, on all aspects relating to the handling of a motor vehicle accident (MVA).

The attorney manages the case and where legal resources are necessary to protect driver rights or injured persons Europ Assistance will appoint the appropriate party in consultation with the client. This service relates to court orders for unlawful/unauthorised removal or towing of vehicles by pirate operators.

The client receives support and assistance with all legal matters and claims that follow a MVA, covering vehicle damages, repairs, injuries and third party claims, as well as litigation and prosecutions that may follow.

The attorney has access to a comprehensive motor law legal data system.

In emergencies such as accidents, messages are relayed to the client's next of kin.

The Attorney Referral Service is also available for matters such as bail and prosecutions and to protect the rights of motorists generally.

Road Accident Fund

Our legal advisors are able to advise clients on how to lodge a claim with the Road Accident Fund, where to lodge a claim and how to complete the relevant forms. They can also refer a client to a specialist attorney, where necessary.

Attorney Referral Service

The in-house attorney also has access to a national referral panel of practising attorneys should any matter require legal intervention or representation. The database includes details about the attorney's area of specialisation, such as criminal, labour, conveyancing, etc. In most areas the client will be offered a choice of attorneys for this referral appointment.

The referral service involves a free initial 30-minute consultation and if required, the practising attorney will also draft one letter or make one telephone call to a third party. The client can then decide whether or not to continue with the practising attorney's services at a fee structure agreed to between himself and the attorney.

An advice line manned by tax and financial advisors who provide guidance and information on all taxation and finance-related matters. The line operates during normal working hours and is manned by qualified and experienced experts who will answer queries on topics such as:

  • Calculation of taxes payable
  • Allowable deductions
  • Estate tax
  • Retirement benefits and planning
  • Administrative issues and new tax amendments

Our financial advisors offer factual, reliable, thorough and objective information on all finance-related matters, which enables the caller to make an informed decision. Advice can include how to read a bank statement, how debit orders work, etc.

PERSONAL HEALTH ADVISOR

With the 24 hour Nurse Line, members get the peace of mind that comes with knowing they have access to a professional assistance service that will deal with any health query 24 hours a day. This service is offered in nine official South African languages.

Members merely dial the toll-free number and highly experienced, friendly nurses identify the nature of the situation and supply information using a sophisticated computer database.

Personal details and medical history are loaded onto this electronic database so that they can be accessed when the member calls again.

The Audio Health Library

There are many conditions that are not sufficiently urgent to take to a doctor or that may cause embarrassment but the member would nevertheless like to learn about them. Now all they have to do is call the Personal Health Advisor and listen to hundreds of practical and easy-to-understand topics. Managing health has never been easier.

Emergency Medical Advice

In the event of a medical emergency, Access Health will provide first aid advice to enable a caller to provide assistance to the member until medical help arrives.

Assessing Day-To-Day Symptoms

Every day we are faced with decisions regarding our health or that of a loved one. At any hour of the day or night, a registered nurse will help the caller decide what to do.

Important Health Knowledge

Health issues are complicated and can be unsettling if they are not properly understood. For example, you get your blood test results back and you're not entirely sure what they mean. Access Health carries a complete database on investigative procedures and can assist the caller with information. Basic health information such as dietary assistance, and inoculations are also available.

Drug Database

Access Health has access to a complete drug database. The nurse assists the caller with information on the specific drug, the contra-indications, when it should be taken and whether there is any dietary specification linked to the usage of the drug.

Poisoning

Access Health also comprises of a database with poisoning protocols for the nurses to assist the caller in need. The immediate and long-term needs are addressed with the caller. Directions to the closest medical facility will be given or even an ambulance arranged where the patient is critical and in need of immediate medical care.

Health Counselling

Chronic ailments and diseases such as cancer, AIDS, diabetes, asthma, require both a better understanding and specific treatment to help the patient, and those around them, to cope with the problem.
