Our Company
We have four fully equipped technical vehicles to assist all truck and trailer breakdowns on the roadside. We are open 24 hours, 7 days a week, including public holidays. Our services cover the whole of Kwazulu natal region - from Stanger, Eshowe, Empangeni, Melmoth, Ulundi, Nongoma, Mkhuze, Pongola, Jozini including all the way to the borders of Mozambique. We have trusted 3rd party suppliers who we can utilize for breakdowns outside of these areas. We hava a 6000sq meter yard space, which is the basis of our Truckstop, for overnight parking facilities, which we also utilise for long standing repairs. Our yard is monitored with Security Cameras and 24 hr Security guards. Our friendly and helpful staff are always available to assist with mechanical repairs on your trucks & trailers.

My career started in 1997 as a General worker at SA Truck Bodies in Bloemfontein, which steered my passion for welding. I focused on perfecting my skill and put my efforts into learning everything I could. I was then promoted to Field Technician to do roadside breakdowns. This is the spark that started a desire to accomplish so much more. I was later transferred to JHB Branch and continued to gain knowledge and experience. My promotion to Workshop manager also assisted in another relocation to Richards Bay in 2008.
The opportunity arose for me to apply for the position of assistant manager and later Branch Manager. I will always be grateful to SA Truck Bodies for their investment in my career. The branch then later had some varies changes which included additional companies such as Route Management and Transrep.

We are an approved TEXA Diagnostic Specialist with a dynamic tablet system that allows us to run a Full Diagnostic test on a variety of truck models such as:

This gave me the opportunity to invest in my own future and take a leap of faith into opening my own business to go back to doing what I loved the most and that was repairing trucks & trailers. I started my company Henk’s Trailers Services & breakdown Repairs in 2016. I ran my business from home and out of my 3 x field technician bakkies with 24/7 roadside assistance. In March 2021 despite the Covid Lockdown I rented a property in Alton and opened a workshop with a Truckstop facility.

In June 2022, I separated the business into two which is still HTS Services and now Richards Bay Truckstop which my fiancée Melissa Lourens is managing fully. This gives me the opportunity to take care of my customers and to be a safe Truckstop for drivers to rest, refuel and refresh.
I am the kind of person that will go the extra mile to try and find a solution. My favourite saying is that you should never steal, but if you do steal, steal with your eyes and ears, so that you can apply it to your skill set and use it to learn and grow from it. I always tell me technicians that nothing is impossible. There has to be a solution to the problem, the difference is how far you are willing to go to find the solution. Everything can be fixed, and if it cannot be fixed then it can be replaced.
