Last on to bed, first one to rise.
The lack of sleep apparent through bloodshot eyes.
The phone rings again, I'm off in a flash,
a jumpstart, a tow or really bad crash.
Another busy day. Don't know when I'll be done.
And to think when I started I thought this was fun.
A recovery with snatch blocks, a truck on its side.
The stress just mounts, but I keep it inside.
What's your ETA they ask as I take another call.
Remember you're needed I tell myself.
People depending on me for help.
So no matter how bloodshot my eyes may be
I always remember someone needs me.
My kids running out to greet me.
They help me realise my purpose for towing
and remind me that I really love towing.
