Microsoft moves into smartphone territory with zunePhone

There are rumours floating around virtual space that Microsoft is going to try and combat the success of Apple’s iPhone with a “zunePhone”. The news is quite interesting because Microsoft’s Zune Player, on which the zPhone will presumably be based, completely failed to give Apple’s iPod any competition at all. According to unconfirmed information, the zPhone will use a variation of Windows Mobile 7, with functionality centred on Windows Live Services. There may be some truth in the rumour though, because Technorati has a video that reveals an “exclusive peak” at the “soon to be released zunePhone”. |
